As mentioned some time ago, I bought one of the resin CA's from the Parts Box in Australia.

It's taken a while to get around to it but I finally did (although I have decided to make some more changes, more anon)

The resin is pretty thick on the body. It is advertised as a curbside model so no detail in the van area, no engine and the chassis details are molded into the floorplan.

It's a pretty good representation but I took some photos at Gaydon and the windscreens are too small and the wrong shape and the grille is also not really correct.

I decided to try and reshape the windscreens and cut them back. I used some thin plastic coated wire as the 'rubbers' but I'm not very happy with it and having looked again at my references, I have noticed the metal is peaked between the screens so I am going to have another go. I also drilled out the grille so I could reshape the slats - big mistake! The resin is at least 5-6mm thick behind the grille making it difficult to shape.

This is the extent of the instructions so the rest is up to you! The floorplan needs trimming to fit the shell, the dash needed to be glued in place in the shell before the interior tub gets put in so you can't really see if it's going to fit - there are no tabs to fit anything to!

The other parts are steering wheel, column, one seat, a sheet of acetate for glass, door handles, one wiper and some nice wheels and tyres.

Anyway, in need of decals (and a windscreen re-shape!)........

What an ace little kit, the traditional colours realy set it off. It would look a treat signwritten and striped.

My ole man had one of them as a dormobile, (large family) and it was great fun.

Is TB says, with period sign writing that will look superb.

It doesn't need signwriting, and it certainly doesn't need stripes - don't guild the lily!

I see what you mean about the windscreen shape, voyager: the original kit one doesn't 'frown' enough.

This model would look good posed alongside the Emhar Bedford 'O', or the Sun Star 'OB' coach.

The windscreen pillars look a bit too thick, perhaps they could be thinned down a bit, also the top of the windscreen should be straight not curved down. The windscreens on the real thing appear to be the same size and shape as the 'O' type, does anyone know if they were the same?

The CA Mk.I windscreens are a different shape from the 'O' type, which are parallel top/bottom, and side/side, almost like round-cornered rectangles.

I think voyager has the basic shape of his screens right; just need fine-tuning.

I have been looking at a book on Bedford light commercials. The windscreen pillars on the real thing are quite slender compared to the model, Parts Box have probably made them a bit thicker for strength. The screens themselves were parallel top and bottom except for about 6" towards the ends were they gradually sloped down at the top.
On the model it might be an idea to thin the windscreen pillars down to about half their thickness bearing in mind that it would be very easy to damage them.
