ok some of you may have notice ive not done many models in the past few months due to various reasons.

Well ive been back in the shed and at long last im building a model ive always waiting to make. Ive been fasinated by 70/80's trucks since i was a kid from when i used to spend my school holidays with dad in his daf 3300

soooo i thought it was time to go "old school" as the kids call it and tie in another love of mine and create a scania 141 in the middle east spec

the model is a Heller 141 1/24 kit and the truck it is based on is one of two that were based in southampton not a million miles from me. Just need to deside what one to do !

well hope you like so far, remember this is only my 2nd darkside

model

john

Coming along! Are you going to detail paint the chassis - tank straps etc or was everything one colour on the real thing?

like the engine john.
i'm currently building a heller scania myself, but i'm making it into an LBS 140 (6x2).still not sure what livery but its either going to be charles russell's one that was at gaydon (but i hate the square headlights lol) but i prefer to weather them rather than have a showroom finish,so i'm tempted to do an ASG of sweden.i'll stick some work in progress pics up soon.

John, looking good, you will soon be hooked with the darkside. Great to see some old kits getting attention, I love the Heller 141s.

You can also get ASG-decals from Sweden. For example http://www.modellhobby.se/index.php?maincat=1&cat=707&entity=32766 sells them. They are 1/24th scale and though the pages are in swedish you can contact them by info@modellhobby.se

Looking good! Nice colours John.

I have just finished watching Destination Doha (kindly sent by other John on here!) and am really in the mood for this 141!

Are they 141's in the film? Think I wasn't really into the older trucks, but I bloody am now!!! Angel

Hi John,

Looks good. Cab looks nice and straight, did you have any problems with it?
What colour did you use for the seats?

John
