it,s not to bad a bit hard for this vehicle as it is short chassis and needs extenting and that hurts your pocket not cheap

With the wrecker now finished, i can get on with this. Made a start on the chassis and i'm quite suprised. There are way more bits and bobs than the R/C cars i have built in the past, but everything goes together well, than it would, its a tamiya! The way the chassis is built up is just like the real truck, even down to the axels being bolted on with U bolts! Anyway, this is my progress so far, i'm planning to paint the chassis too, once i know whats whats with it. And heres the trailer i'm planning to modify and detail.

Done a bit more today. Built the diff, greased the cogs etc, built and fitted dampers, springs and axles. Diff, suprisingly heavy! Quick mock up, getting a good idea of the size of this thing now Front axle detail. drive axle detail. Shoul be getting ready for paint soon, nice bright red i think

Finally got the cab painted, got a great shiny smooth finish out of the can too. I'm contemplating scratch building some tanks and such for the chassis too.

I must have been asleep missing this build! Looking good, if you want Tamiya spares then try Gareth Price , best way to contact him is through RC Trucking forum (http://www.rc-trucking.co.uk/forums/) or gareth@price2627.fsnet.co.uk If you are still thinking midlift etc one way forward could be to use the Tamiya Scania 620 chassis rails but the extra grip of twin drive is something worth considering. I see you are located in Robin Hoods county, we used to have meetings at Clumber which I'm trying to get going again. Good place to come and see what others are doing. The rc trucking forum is also a good place to view . Funny old world though, I'm going down a scale to 1:24 to see what that's about, looked in the box......what a lot of bits!!! Edit, Date has been arranged, see here for details http://www.freeforum101.com/scalehaulersand/viewtopic.php?t=938&mforum=scalehaulersand
