Andy, as far as know there are three Italeri tilts . the short version that goes on the ridges the double version that is on the Gruber and Velocitrans and the newer Queen of the Wolves, which one are you after. Parts are Base,Sides, Front, Rear, the long bits that go under the floor to make the main bearer, and the small part that covers the chassis at the rear,Double that for the trailers. The best thing to do is keep the floor and build the rest your self at least that way you can build the correct height as the Italeri one scales out to 3.5 meters where as most hauliers had 4 meter tilts. Looking at the base it tapers out to wards the end, on most ridges that,s the front, but it goes to the back of the ABC trailer. Put a photo of the parts up and I'll tell you what there for. I promise I won't tell you to through them in the bin.

you have the box spot on, but the runner,s on the bottom are upside down, the flat edge goes on top of the chassis rails. the sprue showing two parts wit a slight angle and a long channel are the rear under run bar. the small pins were supposed to fit into a a dogleg piece on the bottom edge,to act as ratchets, but i left them on one i done and they look out of place.i hope this helps you

Cheers mate, think I'll scrap the runners and replace with them with I beam, they're fairly twisted anyway. Think I'm sorted now, time to crack on

Mr Mexican is correct, the body is about right as well don't raise it much more that it already is, as I said its the total height of the body that is to low. Remember to run a tilt cord all the way round it.

I've raised it a tad, pics are in the build thread in the photo section. So strip on the chassis and I beam on the bottom of the tilt have sorted it. I'm not too bothered about the height of the body itself as its just for fun rather than copying any particular truck.

What do you mean about the tilt cord? I was intending just picking out the moulded in one with silver paint

The tilt cord is a cord that runs round the whole body and is sealed, usually at the rear by either customs or by the company that loads the body. It runs through the eyelets that are just above the drop side body, when it is sealed you cant get into the body with out breaking it.Its never on that style of Italeri kit. The zigzag cord on the kit is a bungy tension cord, when new either white cream, or black , when it gets a bit older just a minging colour, although quite a few Greek trucks have red ones usually with a very white tarp.

Some wagons had the bungys and no tilt cord, but anything that went abroad would have had one, as Jeff says it was used to seal the trailer so noone could get into it.

Actually a tilt cord was basically a wire cord sheathed in plastic which began life clear. Or at least you could see the wire inside. Generally they were a mucky grey colour.

Heres one with different bungys. In fact this is more like what I would have expected to see in the UK. The zig-zag bungys weren't as common.
