I wouldn't....doesn't look typical Aussie style. How about a proper Oz bullbar instead?
What's the quality of the resin like, just out of curiosity?

It depends if your building a good period truck or an old beater that's still running with whatever can be found lying about. A lot of them had a very plain channel section with no end covers probably between 350 and 500 mill deep. Auslowe could fix you up with a proper bull bar.. auslowesales@hotmail.com 0061 357947338 ask for Nigel allow for time difference about 13 hours and he's there all the time.

Deffently needs an aussie period bulbar or period bumper but not the drop centre one U have here, Auslowe can help out there and if you want the Part No. for the bullbar it's C1b for the 1/24th or A1b for the 1/25th one with the price @ $15.50 each.

Pete, I have replied on the 18th, but got no answer since.
I have some bullbars here (from Revell KW or Ertl Volvo I think).

Pete have you thought of a convertible trailer, very popular in the 70's and 80's, remember the trailer bogies are right at the back of the Australian trailers of that period. there's just enough room for a drop down mud flap and the lights between the tire and the end of the trailer. and most had duel wheels on a 40 footer. rope rails instead of hooks, gates along the sides between 5 and 6 feet high and a sheet over the top. A big dumpy tipping ram at the front. Sheets of ply wood were put along the gates so you could do bulk and the ram tipped it of, and you could strip it to a flat of general, quite a few had ISO locks as well. Big racks under the chassis to carry the gates and ply when not in use. Some had 10 stud wheels, most had spiders, either would do.

If your really worried about how this vehicle DID look, when it was running around the roads of Aust, then maybe you should buy this book from E-bay.

http://preview.tinyurl.com/2a3ae6t

It covers the history of this particular series of vehicle in Aust and show it in many disguises, all of them original, so, plenty to choose from, you will not be disappointed when you acquire this book either, it's well worth getting.

You will even notice that the casting of this model cab is of rather poor quality, the style of the cab has been compromised as well, this model casting has lost the gracefull curves that were in the sides of the original plastic cab. You will immediately notice this defect when you get the book.

The reason that the cabin had these gracefull curves, was so that the cabin could be released from the full sized moulds.

I have seen one of these model castings, that has been modified and it looks about ten times better than the straight sided one.

Here's a bit more info for you to have a look at.
This one even has the original straight bumper bar, fitted as per factory.
Have a real good look at this video and you can see the nice gentle curves that were moulded into the plastic cab. Even the colour scheme inside the cab is original, it hasn't been touched. The motor is original as well, it might be a bit hard to find one of these motors in the correct scale, but, only a slight bit of a challenge to make one yourself, now isn't it ?

Enjoy.

Yep, you got it, have a look at these links, shows a couple of Atki's with a very similar bullbar.

Now for the challenge,Think --- see if you can make it tilt as per the original, that's both the bullbar and the cab.d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!
