I'm currently a bit stuck with the McKerral volvo while waiting for info and some decent weather to spray in, so I've knocked this up over the last two nights. It will eventualy be a rig in ASG colours with an A frame tilt trailer

So far I've stretched the chassis, though not added the back yet, converted to a day cab and raised the tag axle as per XJRV8s handy tips. I think I need to lift the body a bit, what does everyone reckon?

Apologies for the poor pictures but I took them in a rush in fading daylight

You sure don't mess about, Going to be great watching it come along, likewise the volvo. Maybe the body needs raising a little. Seeing the cut down cab will come in handy as i've got plans for a race truck.

Body looks alright but one thing that I can see wrong, unless its the pics, is the gutter line on the roof. The joint does not look level, but correct me if I am wrong. If it is out, as with any other mistake, it is magnified once the paint is applied and the better the gloss finish, the more faults it shows up

I think the daycab conv. looks a couple of mm to short (the kit cab inside backwall should fit without the side panel if the lenght is right) but that can be hard to fix now I guess. As you are planning it in ASG livery I think you should cut of all the "ferryhooks" ore whatever that is that Italeri fitted under the siderails of the body, to make it look more as a Swedish body.

I'm having a nightmare with the yellow paint on this one, the can doesn't seem to have a ball bearing in it and as such its not mixing properly, might as well use poster paint Brick wall

Anyhow, its nice to use my imagination and free will again after the TGX and FH

Created an extra long fuel tank, with a cut out to avoid the rear spring hanger:

A nice full chassis

I'm unsure whether to add this roof rack, it would help to hide the mess of the paintwork on the roof as its never going to be perfect, but I'm not sure its really suitable. What does everyone think?

The air intake should be modified so it sits under the cab floor.
This is an option, just incase there are any Policemen about tonight.

Have you any pictures John? From the ones I've seen its just a shorter pipe from the airbox backover, which I've done by shortening the piece which sits over the fuel tank

Might go for a wind deflector, I think theres one in the accessories kit isn't there

After 3 attempts at painting the cab this is the final result, not my best model ever due to all the paint stripping and generally making an a**e of it. Overall though, not too disastrous and I'll be taking it to Barney on Sunday

Still need some advice on what to do with tilt body, do I pick out the bungees in silver, then glue a wire to the eyelets? What does everyone use for this?

Also not sure what marker boards, if any it needs

personally, I would have shaved all of the tilt cord and bungee detail off before I had painted it and then drilled the tilt and threaded some fuse wire loops through the holes and after painting, thread some fine nylon cord through the loops and tie it at the back, or better still - cover the whole lot with some of the KFS vinyl sheet, superb stuff!
There looks to be a lot more 'bungees' on the body than there would of been anyway Think
