G'day mate,

Yeah not too far away now,the cab is all together with most of the glass in. Should get it finished and weathered this week.

It's a bit hard to get out door photos now as we've put our clocks back and the evenings are drawing in. I'll get some finaly finished pics sorted soon.

The NZ truck model champs are on over Easter and I've entered,so it'll have to be done by then. I'm a bit nervous as I've never entered a model show before and this is my first build for over twenty years.

There will be some stiff opposition at the show, there are some very talented modelers here in NZ. The nature of the truck spec here requires guys to extensivly modify kits to replicate Kiwi style trucks.

Cheers and thanks for all the comments.

Jamie

G'day guys,

Thanks again for all your words of encouragement.

Here's a pic of the just about finished Scania,I took this before I put the wipers and mirrors on.

I'm not going to put a heap of finished photos up as Peter has asked me for some for the magazine.

All in all I'm very happy the way in turned out,I lernt lots along the way and picked up many tips and ideas from both on here and from the magazine.

It took me nearly 22 months in the end,so I'd better get a wriggle on and get the trailer put together hey!

Yup, have to say that looks pretty damn good from here!!
The pic reminds me of when the official photographer from Leyland came to our paintshop to do some shots, they brought a huge roll of heavy guage white paper with them and this was affixed to the workshop walls and the floor near and under the truck so as there was a completely blank backscene!!!
If I recall, the trucks tyre treads were washed, dried, the truck was then pushed onto the paper which had a couple of strips on top where the tyres would roll and this was then removed before the pics could be taken!!! It took hours!!

"I'm not worried about wiring the starter as it wont be seen."
But how's the engine going to start without the starter being wired in?.......

LOL, Looking really good Mate, coming along nicely!
