That is little short of obscene but, if it's what floats your boat and you've got the pennies to spend.....

There's quite a number of, espcially die casts, being code 3'd many of them being totally inaccurate and yet some [dare I say sad person?] pays loadsa money for it?.... One that springs to mind was a Dinky Scammell Explorer army breakdown truck, recovery body taken off, just the die cast base left, repainted and supplied with a tank transporter trailer and an asking price of mega bucks. It sold!!!

Another was a Dinky AEC Fire Tender painted and lettered as a joke into Eddie livery and shown at a swapmeet/toyfair. It had just been put on the table when the serious questions began about how much is that? It was sold many times over!!!! So much so that he actually took orders for making more of them.....

Cost of parts and decals £50-00 to £75-00, labour bugger all, profit at least £300-00, as you say "what ever floats your boat" and I keep being told "there is no money about".

Totally agree Contractor, What's more annoying is the fact that there are so many of these so called 'buyers' who cannot tell a good model from a really bad one Brick wall I love the description '4 Michelin men' surely the reason it made so much money Dancing

Mick Gannon writted [sic]; ""there is no money about".
Strange that you should say that, I've heard the same thing said however, just this week [5 working days] I collected over 200 televisions [inc. flat screens & plasmas] and somewhere around 350 fridges/fridgefreezers from the local tips for safe gases disposal and subsequent recycling.... Seems there's loads o' money being spent in the electrical stores, many fridges are almost new!!!

Anyone else think that seems 'too much' even for silly bidding. I wonder if that price will actually be paid.

i like the part in the description about "stobart livery added", sorry but correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't that include more than one decal mounted on the very top of the roof (were you wouldn't see it from road/ground level)?

Also, it's good to see he's included so many detailed, extremely clear photos throughout the text of the description... Ok, maybe a little bit of sarcasm there.

But seriously, when he was making such a massive profit from some poor bugger, you'd think he'd at least have the decency to offer free postage.
It'd be so much easier if they just made kit's of this thing.

I bought a Peugeot 306 TDi for £300 this week, perhaps if i stick some fancy lights and a few Michelin men on it i could make a £100 profit. I know Peter White has spoken about people spendng silly money for old 1/24 kits and i can agree with him 95% on that one, but if a kit is not being produced anymore they will pay a little extra, but £400 for a 1/50 custom Scania...no way!
Perhaps it's that guy who won £45 million on Lotto......now how many models could you get with that?
