well.... here we go again... more ramblings of my latest good idea.... this has been rattling round in my head for a while after reading Ashley Coghill's book, about Astran... Chris Hoopers transconti and M/e spec tilt!!!!

so after trawling some old editions of tmw as well for tips and inspiration some old articles on scratchbuilding trailers.. using a block of wood as a core..

This is step one... and it does remind me how much i hate wood work!

stick some plasticard to the sides to box it in, a ta.. da!

then more evergreen strip gets us to here

My group of fleabay donor fords only turned this weekend so, its a hastily mocked up wagon on the front lots to do to that yet..

and my current fave bit, my belly tanks

I'm indebted to tiltmans thread, as it's helping me with the layout no end! just not sure which livery variation to finish it in

That looks like it will be finished a lot sooner than mine. As you mentioned there are many different versions of this truck in many different guises. Chris also run a late model Scania so you could of stayed with that as well.

Aw Shucks my first thought was Ooh, magic, a few strips of Evergreen and a 4 Series Scania becomes a clasic Transconti!!
Ah well, great looking model though, should look fantastic when the paintings didded!

nice to see that the old ford gets more mentions than that pile of swedish plastic! i've got another 2 for future projects

i've got an old magazine from 1998, the transcon has more of a work worn patina about it which i like!

That's come up really well, the foil looks good, just a couple of minor thing, Chris's truck was left hand drive though, and he only had a drivers seat in it.

@Tiltman: Thanks, the foil has really impressed me, got a stepframe tilt to build, havent decided on the livery yet, but i'll definately do it again! and i havent got as far as the interior... but thanks for pointing it out!

here's a pic showing the trailer in a bit more detail

@gbmodeltrucker, that bull bar is made from 1.2mm wleding wire "acquired" from the fabricator in the yard soldered together. that one is the mk1, bent by eye, soldered up, and the mesh superglued, i've built a jig since that, the mk2 used some bass mesh i found in the stash but looks poo, so mk 3 is use the jig and fix the ally mesh as on the mk1 with epoxy, so watch this space!
